Srinagar: Er G N Var the Veteran Educationist and Chairman Kashmir Private School Association has appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of State In the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh, Lieutenent Governor Jammu & Kashmir Girish Chander Murmu and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam to restore the five years age relaxation withdrawn after several years for the central civil services the notification for which has been issued by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently.
In a statement issued here Var said the withdrawal of five years age relaxation allowed to Jammu & Kashmir youth should not have been withdrawn as most of the youth in Jammu & Kashmir are passing through a traumatic phase in a hostile security atmosphere for last several decades and appealed for its immediate review and reversal to encourage thousands of Jammu & Kashmir youth tending to compete for the central civil services examination. He said the decision to withdraw the five year age relaxation for central services goes against the spirit of the handholding of youth in Jammu & Kashmir.
