15 drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la, Kulgam: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has booked 15 notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and Kulgam districts after obtaining formal detention order from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in Baramulla, drug smugglers namely Bashrat Ahmad Raina S/o Abdul Lateef R/o Salamabad Uri, Changez Khan S/o Muneer Hussain R/o Bandi Uri, Manzoor Ahmad Lone @ Munna S/o Gh Mohammad R/o Lachipora Bijhama, Nazar Din Bhatti S/o Karam Din R/o Madiyan Kamalkote, Syed Mehtab Hussain S/o Syed Azad Hussain R/o Paranpeelan Uri, Imran Ahmad Khan S/o Mohd Zaman R/o Noorkhah, Ashiq Hussain Parray @ Elahi S/o Abdul Razak R/o Lawaypora HMT, Altaf Ahmad Mir S/o Ghulam Mohd R/o Malpora Sopore, Amir Subhan Malla S/o Mohd Subhan R/o Watergam Wagoora and Sahil Ahmad Reshi S/o Abdul Samad R/o Chanpora Kunzer were booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. Police in it’s statement also said that the said booked drug smugglers were detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in its statement furthermore said that in Kulgam also the notorious drug smugglers namely Mohd Ramzan Sheikh @Ramm Sheikh S/o Jamal Sheikh R/o Wanpora Khudwani, Arif Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Hamid Bhat R/o Brazloo Jageer, Firdous Ahmad Sheikh S/o Mohd Yousuf Sheikh R/o Manchewa Yaripora, Shahid Ahmad Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat R/o Brazloo Jageer and Hilal Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Nabi Dar R/o Malwan Devsar were booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
Stating that the said booked drug smugglers were detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu, Police in its statement further said that many cases were registered against the said drug smugglers for being involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of respective districts, adding therein that despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police resolved to make all possible efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.
