Rajouri: General Observer for Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, Sanjeev Kumar Besra on Tuesday presided over a pivotal meeting of Nodal Officers to meticulously review the preparedness for Lok Sabha elections 2024 in this Border District.
The meeting served as a platform to disseminate vital information regarding the role and responsibilities incumbent upon each officer during the electoral process.
A threadbare discussion ensued on enforcement of MCC, complaint monitoring, communication plan, SMS monitoring, MCMC, material management, storage of EVM and VVPATs, training and SVEEP, printing of ballot papers, transport plan, randomisation of polling parties etc
The General Observer directed the officers to execute their duties with unwavering dedication and a profound sense of responsibility.
Addressing the officers, Sanjeev Kumar Besra, emphasized the paramount importance of meticulous planning and flawless execution for smooth conduct of the electoral process. He stressed the need for heightened vigilance, transparency, and adherence to ECI guidelines to uphold the sanctity of the democratic process.
Taking a comprehensive review, the General Observer outlined different tasks and duties assigned to the Nodal Officers, encompassing a wide array of responsibilities. He directed the officers to exhibit exemplary commitment and diligence in discharging their duties, recognizing their pivotal role in facilitating free, fair and peaceful elections.
The General Observer expressed confidence in the collective resolve and capability of the nodal officers to fulfill their roles effectively, thereby contributing to the successful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections in Rajouri district.

L S Elections 2024: Sandhya SVEEP Yatra held in Jammu to generate voter awarenes
Jammu: Sandhya SVEEP Yatra, a voting awareness rally, was on Tuesday taken out from office of District Magistrate here.
Officers and officials of different departments and locals participated in rally calling for electoral participation on polling day in the Constituency scheduled on April 26.
DEO, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, who is also the Returning Officer for 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency (PC), SSP Dr Vinod Kumar; ADDC Sher Singh; ADC Ansuya Jamwal; ADC Shishir Gupta; SSP Traffic, Faisal Qureshi and others led the march from the forefront.
The rally marched from the office of District Magistrate up to Indira Chowk. Locals and traders enroute the markets were encouraged to participate in the democratic process by exercising their adult franchise.
L S Elections 2024: Mega SVEEP awareness rally organised at Nowshera
Nowshera: Department of Health and Family Welfare in Nowshera, in collaboration with District Icon of Persons with Disabilities, Vinod Sharma, on Tuesday organized a mega SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) rally here.
Hundreds of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers from Block Nowshera participated in the SVEEP rally organised under the direction of the District Election Officer Rajouri, Om Parkash Bhagat .
The mega rally commenced from Sub District Hospital Nowshera and was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon.
As the rally progressed through the main market, ASHA workers and health employees chanted slogans promoting democracy. A significant number of officers and officials also participated in the rally.
The ADC Nowshera, on the occasion, highlighted that the primary objective of this awareness rally is to encourage the general public to vote in upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in large numbers.
The rally aimed to motivate young voters to actively participate in the electoral process and ensure maximum voter turnout, thereby strengthening the core values of Indian democracy.
L S Elections 2024: General, Police Observer interact with Zonal, Sectoral Magistrates, BLOs of distt Reasi
Reasi: To fortify the Election preparedness and ensure seamless operation during the upcoming elections, General Observer for 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency (PC), Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal, and Police Observer, Dr. Gajarao Bhupal, interacted with Zonal/Sectoral Magistrates, Zonal/Sectoral Officers and BLOs of the Reasi district, here on Tuesday.
During the interaction, the Observers reviewed the electoral arrangements made at different levels in the district ahead of polling scheduled on April 26.
The General Observer asked the stakeholders to perform their duties with dedication and efficiency during the elections.
General/Police Observers also interacted with BLOs and gave away essential kits comprising necessary material to them .

L S Elections 2024: Marathon under SVEEP held at Samba to maximize voter awareness
Samba: A marathon themed ‘Every Step Counts, Every Vote Counts’ was organized on Tuesday in Samba under ‘Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program with an aim to mobilize citizens for maximum participation in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
District Election Officer, Abhishek Sharma; SSP, Vinay Kumar; ADC, Suresh C Chander; Additional SP Surinder Choudhary; District Nodal officer SVEEP, Mohammad Sayeed flagged off the mini marathon, comprising participants of all age groups.
The mini marathon started from Pangdore Chowk and culminated at Kolhapur Bridge.
In the men’s category, Rohit Pal stood first, Mohan Lal stood second and Shubam Roy stood third. In the women’s category, Pihu Devi got first place and Akashi got second place. The winners were awarded by the DEO.
After this, a Yoga event was organised followed by a DJ event in which youth danced to the songs and tunes related to voter awareness.
The DEO educated the people about the importance of voting and appealed to them to exercise their right on polling day scheduled on April 26, 2024.
