Partition Dark Chapter In History; Country Had To Pay Heavy Price For It, Says HM Shah

“Chidambaram Insulting The Dreams Of The Architects Of The Country’s Independence, Who Advocated For 3 Criminal Laws

“Cong hell-bent on harming Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Sikh, Parsi communities

New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress party on Monday after senior leader P Chidambaram criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in Rajasthan’s Banswara, calling it a “shame”.
Shah alleged that Congress only indulges in appeasement politics, and after “reading the crushing defeat written for them on the walls,” the Congress leaders have “lost their nerve”.
“That is why they are working on their appeasement policy again. After the first phase of voting, the Congress clearly understood that the people of the country are determined to bloom the lotus once again with a strong majority, so now the Congress is making its last-ditch attempt. But the people of the country know about the Congress party’s reality very well. The people of the country, are going to teach Congress a lesson like they did in 2014 and 2019 and with even greater might,” Amit Shah said in a statement.
“Congress leaders are talking about abolishing those laws that empower the common people of the country and protect their rights. The Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA) and 3 new criminal laws, i.e., Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, will be revoked if Congress comes to power,” the statement mentioned.
Shah claimed that neither Congress will ever come to power nor will the laws enacted for public welfare ever be revoked.
The Union Home Minister said that through the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the priority of the BJP government is to provide Indian citizenship and secure the rights of persecuted Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Sikh, and Parsi communities from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
“This law represents the fundamental principles of the Constitution. P Chidambaram is insulting the dreams of the architects of the country’s independence, who advocated for these laws, by talking about scrapping them. CAA is the nation’s law, and it ensures that no one can stop citizenship from being granted to the brothers and sisters of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Sikh, and Parsi communities who have suffered religious persecution and come to India,” the statement read.
“Congress is hell-bent on harming Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Sikh, and Parsi communities to appease its vote bank. It is Modi’s guarantee that each individual from persecuted minority communities who have come to India from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh will receive citizenship through the CAA, and no one can stop it,” it mentioned further.
Shah further claimed that by abolishing 150-year-old laws, the BJP, under the leadership of PM Modi has, for the first time in India’s history, attributed Indianness to the legal system, but the Congress still does not want to abandon its mentality of slavery. Therefore, these people are objecting to these laws, which are fragrant in the country’s soil, while the justice system of the country is praising them openly, he added. The BJP leader asserted confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would win more than 400 seats with a resounding majority under the leadership of PM Modi. Once again, the country is headed to form a Modi government, and the public is voting in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party to build a developed India, the statement added. Earlier in the day, former finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram alleged that the “level of debate has sunk to a new low after April 21,” referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in a public rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara. The veteran leader also questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party on claims against the Congress party regarding alleged announcements to distribute people’s land and other valuables among Muslims, among others.
“The Prime Minister must have some respect for his predecessor. Dr Manmohan Singh’s speech to the NDC in December 2006 has been reproduced in the Indian Express today. Dr Singh had said that the first claim on resources lies with SC, ST, OBC, minorities, women and children. It is scandalous to distort his words as Mr. Modi has done. The level of debate has sunk to a new low after April 21. It is a shame,” Chidambaram said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Congress party has moved the Election Commission against the Prime Minister’s speech, urging action.
“The constitutional ethos and spirit that make secularism a basic structure in our Constitution make a level playing field and democracy itself a part of the basic structure. A basic structure means that a constitutional amendment cannot violate the basic structure. This is a very serious, uncalled-for invasion and we hope and trust because the ECI is itself on trial that, irrespective of the status of the person who has done this appropriate action as in any other case, it will and must follow shortly,” senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said earlier in the day.
PM Modi, earlier on April 21, while addressing a public rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, alleged that the Congress wants to take away the gold and property of people and distribute it among “those having more children.”
The Prime Minister said that if the Congress came to power, it would redistribute the wealth of people to Muslims and cited former PM Manmohan Singh’s remark that the minority community had the first claim on the country’s resources. Modi further alleged that the Congress plans to give people’s hard-earned money and valuables to “infiltrators” and “those who have more children”.
