3 gamblers arrested in Sopore, Stake money seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested three gamblers in Sopore and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Bomai headed by SHO Police Station Bomai under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir apprehended three gamblers identified as Nazir Ahmad Mir S/o Abdul Jabbar Mir, Bashir Ahmad Malla S/o Abdul Jabbar Malla and Feroz Ahmad Malla S/o Ghulam Mohammad Malla, all residents of Malmapanpora Sopore at Malmapanpora, adding therein that stake money of Rs. 3,780/- and playing cards were also recovered from the possession of the said accused.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 24/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bomai besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be strictly dealt as per law and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
