Minor girl dies in fire incident in Sopore

Srinagar: A two-year-old girl died and a woman suffered burn injuries in a fire incident that broke out in a residential house at Sopore township of Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
Fire and Emergency Service officials said that a fire broke out in a two-storied house in the Tarzo area at around 1.10 PM Sunday.
The girl identified as Rida daughter of Tanveer Ahmad Lone and her grandmother Rafiqa Begum were in the “Hamam” room of the house at the time of incident and both suffered burn injuries.
The duo was shifted to a nearby health facility where doctors declared Rida dead. However, they said Rafiqa is stable and recovering.
The cause of the fire is stated to be due to the electric short circuit, they said.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case.
