Srinagar: Two persons were killed while five others were injured when a rafting boat capsizes in river Lidder in world famous tourist resort of Pahalgam.
On May 31, a tourist guide died while saving seven tourists, including two foreigners, after a boat capsized in Lidder river in Pahalgam.
Official sources said that a rafting boat with about seven people onboard capsized in river Lidder in Pahalgam on Tuesday. “A rescue operation was immediately launched and all the seven persons were rescued and rushed to a hospital,” they said.
However, they said two persons, including a tourism department employee Rinku Raja Pandita and a woman Sanjana, were declared brought dead at the hospital.
They said one among the five injured has been referred to a hospital in Srinagar in critical condition.
