“Mothers are always ready to sacrifice hugely for the child and play a key role in providing a good and conducive atmosphere to the new born baby. The role of a mother in fact paves way for joyful welcome of the new born baby to the world”.

Children are blessing from Almighty Allah to his servants, they are meant to be dutiful to the old and aging parents, uncles and other relatives. They are one of the most precious gifts of Almighty Allah to mankind it is as big as ones wealth. Quran commands parents to invest their precious times in making very good preparations for their offspring. The Quran says: “Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: Women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world’s life; but in nearness to Almighty Allah is the best of the goals (To return to)”. Perhaps one of the most important step towards good upbringing of child starts with the mother as mothers are always ready to sacrifice hugely for the child and plays a key role in providing a good and conducive atmosphere to the new born baby. The role of a mother in fact paves way for joyful welcome of the new born baby to the world. Apparently, women do suffer a lot during the month of pregnancy as vomiting, unrest; headache, blood pressure and general discomfort are unavoidable happening in this period. During this period the embryo solely responds to the moves of the mother, it is imperative to note that women should seek to the assistance of health practitioners and medical advice. During pregnancy the type of food taken by the mother has a reciprocating effect between the mother and the child; similarly, it has impact on child’s intelligence and capability. This is because the brain of the child responds to the quality of nutrition provided to the fetus by the mother during its growth. This means that mothers shall stop taking any substance that may hurt and harm the embryo. The Quran Says: And spend of your substance in the cause of Almighty Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Almighty Allah loveth those who do well.

The Prophet (SAW) has described man as the supervisor of his house who will be questioned about his subjects. He designated the mother as the keeper of the house of her husband and held her answerable for those in her charge. The Prophet (SAW) has ordered that the children and the family be taught manners, brought up well made to act on the injunctions of Shariah and kept away from unlawful things. He described this as a scheme to protect oneself from the Fire of Hell. He also said: Imbibe in children love for me and my family and teach them the recital of the Noble Qur’an because they who carry the Qur’an will be under the shadow of the Throne.

After delivery parents are asked to love dearly their children and show them up to the way of Almighty Allah. This command should not be taken lightly as Islam has strong terms in commanding parents to take responsibility of their children. Therefore, when he trains him let him do so by assuring self that the benefits of same would get back to him. It should be noted equally that when he defies methods of making his child properly he is Islamically considered sinful, the consequences of which he faces at the Day of Judgment. In case the parents who neglected the responsibilities of their children, they will deserve a painful torment.
