Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Wagoora headed by Incharge Police Post Wagoora at a checkpoint established at WagilaWagoora, intercepted a suspect Javid Ahmad Dar @ Sahab Dar S/o Gh Nabi Dar R/o Wagoora Baramulla and during search recovered 100 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Kreeri where he remains in custody.
Stating that in a similar action a police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by Incharge Police Post Palhallan at a checkpoint established at Misra Gali Palhallan, intercepted one IrfanMaqbool Ganie S/o Mohammad Maqbool R/o Ganiepora Buran Pattan, Police in its statement further said that during search 7 syrups of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan where he remains in custody. Police in its statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Kreeri and Pattan besides initiating further investigations into the case.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
