BJP President Raina visits Gandbal Boat tragedy families to express condolences

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Ravinder Raina on Sunday visited the Gandbal-Batwara area of Srinagar to extend heartfelt condolences and support to the families affected by the recent tragic boat tragedy incident.

At least six people were killed and three others were missing when a boat carrying about two dozen people including school children capsized in the River Jehlum on April 16. The bodies of two minors were fished out from the river on Friday and Saturday taking the death toll to 8. One is still missing.

Raina assured the affected families of the party’s unwavering commitment to providing all necessary assistance and support during this challenging period.

Raina was accompanied by several party members, including District President Srinagar Ashok Bhat, Party Spokesperson Altaf Thakur, Media Incharge Sajid Yousuf Shah, Social Media Incharge Sahil Bashir Bhat, and senior leaders Ali Mohammad Mir and Showkat Gayoor.

They expressed solidarity and compassion of the BJP leadership towards the affected community in their time of grief.
