Hyderabad: Delhi Police has summoned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to the national capital as part of the investigation in connection with the reservation-related video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The notice said that the video, viral on social media, tried to show that Amit Shah was against reservation by teasing. Sources said the chief minister was asked to appear with his mobile phone allegedly used to post the fake video on social media platform X. A Delhi Police team reached Telangana to issue notices to those who tweeted the fake video. Since the Congress Telangana unit posted the video on X, it was also served a notice. Earlier, BJPIT cell chief Amit Malviya had said that the Telangana Congress is patrolling the video of Amit Shah being molested which is allegedly fabricated and could incite mass violence. The BJP has claimed that the video has been tampered with and distorts Amit Shah’s original statement at a rally. BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya said the Congress is circulating an edited video which is fake and could lead to mass violence. He said that Amit Shah had talked about removing the unconstitutional reservation given to Muslims on the basis of religion. Sources said that the matter is under investigation. Attempts are being made to trace where the video was taken from. At the same time, the persons who posted it will be traced and questioned and given notice to appear in the questioning. The Delhi Police had registered an FIR in this regard on Sunday after receiving complaints from the BJP and the Home Ministry. A case was registered under Section 66C of the Information Technology Act, apart from various provisions of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, while reacting to the incident, Revanth Reddy said that he is not afraid of the Delhi Police. Addressing a rally as part of the election campaign in Karnataka, he said that notices are given only to those fighting against the BJP. Wherever elections are held, the central government uses the ED, CBI and IT. He said that Delhi Police is being used to win the elections. Modi used to use CBI and ED against the opposition but this time Delhi Police is also being used. He expressed his belief that Congress will come to power in the country. The saffron party will face defeat in Karnataka as well as Telangana.
