Says “Every leader who held power here has compromised people’s interest for personal, political advantage”

Anantnag : Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari stated on Tuesday that “every leader who has held a position of authority in Jammu and Kashmir for over seventy years has compromised on various matters before New Delhi for their own personal and political benefits.”
Addressing a party convention at Dak Bungalow Khanabal in Anantnag Bukhari on here on Tuesday said “the losses incurred by J&K during this time cannot be recovered instantly.” A statement released from the party headquarters indicated that Bukhari made these comments while. Reflecting on the events of August 5, 2019, Apni Party President Bukhari characterized them as “devastating” for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Nevertheless, he emphasized that “Kashmiri leaders who have wielded power over the last seventy years not only failed to protect the rights of the populace but also exchanged public interests for their own personal and political advantages.” He stated, “We witnessed the influence of India’s Home Minister on August 5, 2019. He revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special constitutional status and statehood, dividing it into two Union Territories—by presenting a few resolutions in mere minutes. There was a Home Minister from Kashmir once. Why did he not utilize his power to ensure that Articles 370 and 35A became permanent elements of the Constitution? Who could have prevented him?” He further added, “Likewise, every Chief Minister who has served in this region has compromised the interests of the people for their own political benefits. They have caused us to lose everything over the past more than seventy years. We cannot reclaim it overnight.” Criticizing the government, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed, “It is frustrating to witness the inadequate performance of this government. Despite having received a significant mandate, this government has failed to provide even the most basic amenities to the citizens. They have neglected the promises made in their election manifesto. Where are the two lakh jobs and other appealing commitments they pledged to deliver to the people?”
