Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued a directive mandating that all doctors and paramedical staff in government healthcare institutions adhere to specific norms regarding the wearing of white aprons and displaying nameplates during duty hours. This decision follows observations that many medical professionals, including those under the National Health Mission (NHM) and Ayush, have not been compliant, resulting in confusion for patients and their attendants. The circular emphasizes that non-compliance with these norms is causing inconvenience in identifying healthcare personnel, which is critical for patient care. Consequently, all healthcare professionals are required to wear proper white aprons and clearly legible nameplates that display their full name and designation at all times while on duty. Additionally, heads of institutions, medical superintendents, and chief medical officers are tasked with ensuring strict adherence to these instructions within their respective facilities. This initiative aims to enhance the professionalism and accountability of healthcare staff, ultimately improving the patient experience in government healthcare settings.
