Kathua | September, 11: Two people were killed and three others sustained injuries after a vehicle carrying five passengers met with an accident in the Sarthal area of Bani tehsil in Kathua district on Friday, officials said. The injured were immediately rushed to Bani Hospital for medical treatment, while the victims are believed to be residents of Bhaderwah in Doda district.
Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh stated that he got in touch with district authorities after being informed about the mishap by local representatives. Taking to X, Singh posted, “Just now spoke to DC Kathua, Sh Rajesh Sharma after receiving a phone call from MLA Sh Dalip Singh Parihar informing about a road accident at Sarthal.”
The Minister assured that appropriate medical care is being provided to the injured survivors and expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased, adding that his office remains in constant touch with local administration. Police have registered a case and initiated necessary legal proceedings.
