Kupwara: A series of awareness programmes were held Tuesday under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative across Kupwara district to educate citizens about the importance of voting, voter registration processes, and electoral participation.
The programme was organized on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan at Boys Higher Secondary School Tekipora, Boys Higher Secondary School Maidanpora, Boys Higher Secondary School Warnow and Girls Higher Secondary School Sogam under the overall guidance of District Nodal Officer SVEEP/CEO Kupwara, Abdul Majeed Dar.
The DEO Kupwara urged the young voters to inspire their families, friends, relatives and neighbors to participate in the upcoming General Assembly Elections 2024 with enthusiasm.
She also emphasized the young voters to play their role as ambassadors of democracy.
Meanwhile, plantation drives were also organized by authorities under SVEEP with an aim to combine the environmental efforts with voter awareness campaigns.
The initiative symbolized the dual responsibility of citizens to care for the environment and exercise their right to vote.
