Security forces track suspected terrorist movement from Pulwama towards Yousmarg
Srinagar|Sept 3: Security forces on Thursday launched an anti-terror operation deep inside the forest areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district following information about the movement of a suspected group of terrorists, officials said.
The operation was launched after security agencies received inputs about the suspected movement of a group from Pakherpora in Pulwama district towards Yousmarg in Budgam, they said.
Security forces moved into the forested area and launched searches to track down the suspected group.The operation is being conducted in a densely forested and difficult terrain, officials said.
A senior police officer said that security forces launched an anti-terror operation deep inside the forest areas of Budgam district following information about the movement of a suspected group of terrorists, officials said.
“Further details about the operation were awaited as communication remains difficult in the area. Cellular phone networks and other conventional communication equipment do not function properly in the forest zone,” he said.
Officials said the operation was underway and further details would be shared as more information becomes available.
