Srinagar: Political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have unequivocally condemned the recent militant attack on a passenger bus, which tragically claimed the lives of several individuals and left numerous others injured in Reasi district.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference condemned the terror attack in Reasi and said that such violent acts pose a significant barrier to attaining enduring peace in the region.
Taking to microblogging site X, the official account of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference posted, “JKNC President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President @OmarAbdullah have strongly condemned today’s terror attack in Reasi, J&K. They stated that such violent acts pose a significant barrier to attaining enduring peace in the region.”
“They called on all communities to unite during these challenging times and back initiatives aimed at achieving lasting harmony. They also extended their heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, expressing their deep sympathy during this tragic period,” read the post.
National Conference Vice- President Omar Abdullah on Sunday condemns terrorist attack on Pilgrims in which 10 yatris were killed & 33 injured in Reasi district.
In a post on X, Omar Abdullah wrote, “Terrible news from Reasi in J&K where 10 yatris have reportedly lost their lives & many more are injured after a terror attack on a bus.”
“I unequivocally condemn this attack. It is unfortunate to see areas that had previously been cleared of all militants see a return of militancy. May the deceased rest in peace & may the injured make a swift recovery National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah “, he said.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday expressed his deepest condolences to the families after nine people were feared dead and as many as 33 injured when a passenger bus came under a terrorist attack in the Reasi district.
In a post on X, Mehbooba Mufti said, “Shocking news coming from Reasi where nine people were killed in a bus accident reportedly caused by militants firing at the vehicle. My deepest condolences to the families & their loved ones”.
Former J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad strongly denounced the attack, emphasizing the need for solidarity in condemning such heinous acts. The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla and senior Congress leader Ch Lal Singh echoed similar sentiments, condemning the assault on pilgrims and urging robust measures to counter militancy effectively.
Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Monday called the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district “unfortunate”, and said that the government of India should look into the issue deeply.
“It is very unfortunate that civilians have lost their lives in the attack. This incident happened in an area, which was not considered militant affected even during peak militancy. The nation is told that the situation has been improved but in these past 3-4 years, many deadly attacks have taken place. The government of India should look into the issue deeply,” he said.
Jammu and Kashmir unit BJP President Ravinder Raina said that cowardly Pakistani terrorists who attacked a passenger bus in Reasi district will have to pay a heavy price. “Cowardly Pakistani terrorists have carried out a cowardly attack on the passengers in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir… Cowardly Pakistani terrorists cannot face the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and our paramilitary forces…The terrorists who have carried out this attack will have to pay a heavy price for their crime,” Raina said.
