Udhampur : In Compliance to the directions of Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat was held on Saturday in the District Court complex Udhampur under the Chairmanship of Haq Nawaz Zargar (Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur) and supervision of Ajay Kumar, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur.
The National Lok Adalat took up different kind of cases through 8 Benches. Bench No. 1 comprised of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur and Dinesh Gupta, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur; Bench No. 2 comprised of Slahuddin Ahmed, Sub Judge/ Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur and Adv. Mallikarjun Singh Slathia, Panel Lawyer Udhampur; Bench No. 3 comprised of Vishal Bharti, Distt. Mobile Magistrate (T), Udhampur and Adv. Akhil Dubey Panel Lawyer, Udhampur; Bench No. 4 comprised of Bhanu Bhasin, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur and Adv. Shallu Khajuria Udhampur; Bench No. 5 comprised of Raj Kumar (Chairman TLSC) Ramnagar and Advocate K.D. Sharma, TLSC Ramnagar; Bench No. 6 comprised of Madhu Sharma (Chairman TLSC, Majalta) & Adv. Mohan Lal Gupta, Panel Lawyer Majalta; Bench No. 7 comprised of Rekha Sharma (Munsiff) JMIC Chenani and Adv. Balwan Singh (Panel Lawyer) Chenani. Bench No. 8 comprised of Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur and Adv. Nikhileshwar Singh Panel Lawyer Udhampur.
A total of 2872 cases of different nature were taken up, out of which 2292 were settled, realizing a settlement amount of Rs. 20991807/-.
Bench No. 8 headed by Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur Pradyot Gupta, disposed of 3 cases awarding Rs.30.10 Lakh and Rs. 8,50,000 to the dependents of deceased Gh. Rasool who had died in a road accident during the course of employment.
Reasi Lok Adalat settles 307 cases with over Rs 27 lac
Reasi : Under the directions of Hon’ble Justice Tashi Rabstan, Executive Chairman, JKLSA and Chairmanship of Mrs. Sonia Gupta Chairperson DLSA Reasi (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Reasi, District Legal Services Authority Reasi on Saturday organized a National Lok Adalat here in the District Court Complex.
Five Benches including 3 at District Court Complex Reasi and one each at Katra and Mahore, were constituted for settling the referred cases.
The Bench No.1 comprised of Mrs. Sonia Gupta, Pr. District & Sessions Judge Reasi, Shailendar Bhardwaj, President Bar Association Reasi and Advocate K.K. Dubey; Bench No. 2 consisted of Mrs. Archana Charak, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mrs. Arti Devi, Munsiff JMIC Reasi and Senior Advocate R.K. Sharma; Bench No. 3 included Priyanka Mahajan, Additional Mobile Magistrate, Reasi, Advocate Mrs. Rashi Baru, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel and Advocate Mrs. Shazia Punjabi; Bench No. 4 consisted of Mr Sunil Kumar, Sub-Judge Katra, Mr Lakshay Badyal, Munsiff, Katra, and Advocate Parvesh Kant, President Bar Association, Katra; Bench No. 5 comprised of Ch. Ghulam Murtaza, Munsiff, Mahore, Advocate Abdul Gani Bhatt, President Bar Association, Mahore and Advocate Imran Akram, Mahore.
The matters placed before the Benches included Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque Bounce, Recovery matters, MACT, Matrimonial and Pre-litigation matters. A total number of 501 cases were taken up for amicable settlement out of which 307 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 2725172 was realized as settlement amount.
