Police intercept fleeing tanker vehicle after fatal incident along Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
Srinagar : A 24-year-old woman died and her pillion passenger sustained injuries on Friday when an LPG tanker struck their scooty near Chamba Seri along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
Reports said that rescuers transported both victims to District Hospital Ramban, where Shakeela Banoo, wife of Sameer Tantray and resident of Boli Bazar, was declared brought dead. The injured passenger, 26-year-old Rafiya Farooq of Kundi Karol, remains hospitalized in stable condition. Following the collision, local police tracked down and impounded the fleeing tanker at the Nashri Police Naka using CCTV footage.
