Uri : A 45-year-old dumper driver lost his life after receiving a fatal electric shock when his vehicle accidentally touched a live high-tension power line in the Rajarwani area of Uri, located in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Officials said that the accident occurred while the heavy vehicle was actively unloading material beneath an overhead 33-KV electrical line.
The driver sustained severe electrical burns and was immediately rushed by bystanders to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri, where attending doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. Police officials later identified the deceased as a resident of the Uranbuwa area in Boniyar. Law enforcement authorities have taken formal cognizance of the incident and initiated preliminary legal proceedings to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the hazard.
