Tral: The members of Citizens Council, Traders Federation along with locals in Tral sub district staged a protest demonstration against power development department for failing to provide power supply as per schedule.

The protesting members assembled near Ziyarat Shareef in uptown Tral, and raised slogans against government and PDD, over prevailing electricity crisis.

Farooq Trali, Chairman Citizens Council Tral has said that concerned department has failed to provide power supply as per schedule, particularly at the time of Sehri and Iftaar.

He said that government should either start Gas Turbine or should find any other way to end power crisis in the area.

After passing through the streets of Uptown Tral, the protest rally was concluded near Aabgar area, with protesters demanding immediate steps in restoring the electricity.

Meanwhile, Exn, PDD, Pulwama, Nazir Ahmad Malik has said that power crisis prevailed due to the weather changes in the region.

Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole during his visit to Awantipora had assured that efforts to provide electricity, atleast at the time of Sehri and Iftaar will be taken soon, but no improvement in power supply was witnessed till the date.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kashmir valley has been witnessing severe power crisis for a last few weeks, with officials citing different issues pertaining to the said matter.
