Guv grieved over demise of Fernandes

Jammu: Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed grief over the demise of George Fernandes, former Defence Minister of India and a veteran socialist leader.
Recalling his long association with Fernandes, Governor remembered his untiring devotion towards ameliorating the lot of underprivileged section of the society and service towards nation. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
National Conference Vice President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed his shock grief over the demise of former Defence Minister George Fernandes. Calling him a crusader who fought for the voiceless and the marginalised sections of the society Omar said George Fernandes was a friend and well wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
Taking to micro blogging social networking site twitter Omar wrote ” Rest in peace George Fernandes Sahib. You were a tireless crusader fighting for the voiceless, the marginalised & for those that needed someone in their corner. You called a spade a spade & did so unabashedly. You were always a friend & well wisher of the people of J&K.”.
