Srinagar: Police Station Kralkhod arrested a notorious criminal who was absconding after taking half a dozen high end cameras on rent basis from many photographers of Srinagar city and did not return those cameras back to the lenders.
On 27th of June 2018, Police Station Kralkhod received a complaint from Ishtiyaq Ahmad Dar wherein he stated that Zubair Ahmad approached his photography shop and took a camera on rent basis which he promised to return back next morning. He further stated that when he tried to contact the said person, he kept his phone switched off.
On receiving this information, a case FIR number 28/18 under section 406 RPC was registered in Police Station Kralkhod and investigation was started.
During the course of investigation, it came to surface that the accused Zubair Ahmad Khan resident of Hyhama Kupwara is a notorious criminal involved in many theft cases in the city. After hectic efforts and active public support, the said accused person was apprehended from Lalchowk. Four cameras were recovered from his possession which he was about to sell dishonestly in the open market.
During sustained questioning, two more cameras were recovered on the disclosure of the accused. The total cost of cameras which the accused had acquired through criminal breach of trust amounts to about 2.5 lack rupees.
