Shair-E- Mashriq Dr Allama Iqbal has forever been the greatest source of inspiration for nation’s youth and muslims.Allama iqbal was one of the most intellectual poet,philospher and true visionary that the world has ever seen.His vision in poetry were spread from islamic philosophy to motivational and he believes in human dignity and freedom. iqbal has been a source of inspiration for the youth of his times and for many after that. Iqbal’s poetry was an inspiration for many and millions took lesson from it. Iqbal was keenly attached to youth. He wanted to direct the youth as greatest wealth and strength of any nation that have immensely contributed to nation building. Iqbal always use the word ”Shaheen” for youth because he compared youth with the high moral of Eagle.According to Iqbal ‘Nojwan’ is creative youth. He is shaheen who hunts and then takes. Iqbal says;
“Your world is only the one which you create yourself”
“Not these stones and bricks which are in sight”
Youngsters provide the leadership that lead the nation to the heights of self determination. Iqbal’s notion of leadership is the best exemplified in his concept of mard-i- mumin and has said,
“Afrad Kay Hathun Mae Hai Aqwam Kee Taqdeer”
“Har Farad Hay Milat Kay Mukadar Kaa Sitara”
Allama Iqbal wanted youth to have knowledge of Quran. This idea is clearly expressed in Armughan-i-Hijaz.
“Keep Quran as a mirror before you
“You have completely changed, run away from yourself”
“Fix a balance for your deeds so that you may be able to stir commotion which your forbears stirred in the past”.
He also felt uncomfortable with the way the knowledge and was being transferred to the youth. He also says,
“Utha Na Sheesha Garan-e- Farang Kay Ehsan”
“Seefale Hind Sey Beena-o-Jam Paida Kar”
Iqbal’s youth must be equipped with the fikr, thinking of truth that gives warmth, richness beauty and charm to one’s life.Allama iqbal was a man of all pervasive ability and potentials. He covered such a wide field of intellectual sphere that is impossible to describe him. His most important attribute was that he used all his abilities, art, literature and thinking in service of mankind. According to him”Bestow on the youth my warmth of feeling” My unbounded love and my vision”. Iqbal has explained at great length, the apex of muslim youth was not merging with Allah but submitting oneself to his will and service in the wider sense. The muslim youth are the potent hand as well as the word of Eternal Allah. Iqbal wanted the youth to contribute their due role in the character building of our communities.It was his passion to help youth to get rid of procrastination and lust of materialism. As a conclusion in Iqbal’s eyes youth is representative of the nation, not only of the current nations but also for upcoming generation.They will set a stage for next generation.
“Nahi Naa Umeed Iqbal Apni Kishte-e- Veeran Sey”
” Zara Nam Ho Tou Yeh Mitti Badi Zarkhez Hai Saki”
