Waqf Chairperson chairs Meraj-e-Aalam preparedness review meeting with the Admin
Srinagar: Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday dedicated new infrastructural works to the public at the famous shrine of Peer Dastgir Sahib in Khanyar Srinagar. The event was held within the campus of the holy shrine, where Dr Andrabi inaugurated multiple works including the Administrative Block, Imam Residential Quarters and the Open Ablution Facility. Waqf Board Member Syed Mohammad Hussain accompanied Dr Andrabi.
Addressing the inaugural event Waqf Board Chairperson highlighted significant developmental initiatives undertaken at a prominent shrine over the past three years, emphasizing a shift towards transformation and accountability. Dr. Darakhshan noted that the management of shrines has been liberated from political interference, leading to enhanced development across Jammu and Kashmir. The effective use of Waqf resources has resulted in improved construction, development, and facilities at these spiritual sites, making them more appealing to visitors. Dr. Darakhshan articulated a vision for the Board focused on transparency and lawful governance, which has contributed to its current reputation for development. She affirmed that the Jammu Kashmir Waqf Board is now recognized for its commitment to progress, with a dedicated team working continuously to enhance services at spiritual centers throughout the Union Territory.
