Srinagar : Five-day medical camps organised by the Pritam Spiritual Foundation (PSF) in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps provided assistive support to differently-abled people in Uri and Zangli Garrison, Kupwara, from October 12 to 22.
According to a Ministry of Defence statement, 14 artificial limbs were fitted, 250 hearing-impaired beneficiaries received assistance, and 258 assistive devices and appliances were distributed free of cost to beneficiaries from Kupwara and adjoining areas.
The camps were organised to provide specialised assistance and improve mobility, hearing support and independence among persons with disabilities in north Kashmir.
The initiative also involved Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), according to the statement.
The Army said such welfare initiatives aim to improve access to assistive services and strengthen engagement with local communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The camps concluded on October 22, with the organisers highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in extending support to persons with disabilities and their families.
