Srinagar: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and BJP National Executive Member, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi on Thursday said Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has retrieved land and other properties in the last three years.
Addressing an event organised by the BJP to mark Ambedkar Jayanti at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag, Dr Andrabi said people who love mosques and shrines continue to visit them without any hindrance. “There is no unrest, no discomfort,” she said.
Dr Andrabi said the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has taken major steps in the past three years to revive lost properties and strengthen the institution. “We have successfully retrieved land and other property belonging to mosques and shrines, ensuring these assets remain protected,” she added.
Referring to political criticism, she said some people are trying to divert attention with negative commentary, but the public knows the Waqf Board is working sincerely. “People are no longer giving attention to those who are only focused on showmanship,” she shared. Dr Andrabi also spoke about the importance of the Constitution, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened constitutional values and governance. “Congress and others have been crying foul for the past eleven years, but in fact, Modiji introduced Samvidhan Divas and reinforced constitutional authority,” she said.
