Srinagar : Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has termed the recent rate structure for local breads “Unworkable ” and “unacceptable ” and even called it “Mohammad Tugulki”means an unprecedentedly unwise decision .
In a statement issued here on Thursday Hakeem said that fixing price of local bread at “Rs 7″ instead of Rs 5″ and ” Rs 21″ for three breads is totatally unwise as it is unaffordable for a common consumer to bear unaffordable prices like “Rs 7 and “Rs 21”. Asking the Government to make weight of the bread a basis for fixing the price of local breads he urged the Government to fix the price of local bread at Rs 5/- per peice and that of a slightly greater weight at Rs 10. Calling upon the Government to reactivate the weights and measures department and enforcement wing of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department to implement the rates of local breads, meat, polultry birds and vegetables , Hakeem said that without checking the weights and prices of such commodities of daily use through market checking by Wights & Measures Department and Enforcement wing of FCS&CA department consumers in Kashmir can’t get any respite from continuing exploitation and inflation in the local markets.
