Properties worth ₹1 Cr attached in major crackdown on narcotics offenders in Ang: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has attached a properties valued at ₹1 Cr under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs in Anantnag and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said in Nowshera Srigufwara, a single-storey residential house and one Kanal of land, valued at ₹20 lakhs, belonging to Bilal Ahmad Rather S/o Wali Mohammad Rather R/o Nowshera, Srigufwara, has been attached, adding there that said accused is implicated in FIR No. 57/2021 under Section 8/18 of the NDPS Act, linked to the recovery of a substantial quantity of narcotic substances.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action in Sirhama Srigufwara, a residential house on a one-Kanal plot, worth ₹40 lakhs, belonging to one Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie S/o Mohammad Ramzan Ganaie R/o Sirhama, Srigufwara, was also seized, adding therein that the accused was involved in FIR No. 99/2021 under the NDPS Act, related to the recovery of a significant quantity of contraband.
Stating that in a similar action in Ainoo Aishmuqam, a residential house valued at ₹40 lakhs, owned by Rouf Ahmad Nanda, son-in-law of Gull Mohammad Tantray, R/o Ainoo, Aishmuqam, was also attached, Police in its statement further said that Nanda is also implicated in FIR No. 34/2022 under Sections 8/15-29 of the NDPS Act.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that the seized properties will remain under the custody of authorities until legal proceedings are finalized and also appealed people to assist it in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing any relevant information.
