Srinagar : Police in Ganderbal on Tuesday launched a verification drive on SIM card vendors in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the drive aims to verify the authenticity of documents submitted by subscribers and to ensure that SIM vendors are adhering to the guidelines set by the government and to ensure that their SIM connections are verified. Police in its statement also said that POS venders were directed to maintain proper data and issue SIM cards only after proper verification of the antecedents of subscribers, reiterating therein that the ongoing verification drive emphasis the commitment of Police to curb the menace of fake sims.
