Khansahib(B’gam): Saying that the alarming unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir was eating vitals of the society, with youth becoming victim of drugs on a dangerous proposition , the Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF)and assembly candidate for Khasahib constituency on Friday vowed to move a motion in the upcoming legislative assembly for sanctioning of a massive employment package for educated youth and regularisation of about 60000 daily wagers working in various governments. He said J &K has the second-highest unemployment rate in the country, double the national average adding that about 65% of government posts remains unfilled , which needed to be filled up on fast track basis to save our young generation from falling prey to the drug abuse.
Addressing an election rally in Khansahib Budgam after scrutiny of his nominations papers for the Khansahib assembly segment, Hakeem said his top most priority would be to secure jobs for educated unemployed youth by way of creating new vacancies in government departments and devising a massive employment package for them. He said any effort to change special demographic status of Jammu and Kashmir would be thwarted with full might. He said no body will be allowed to usurp our rights on our land , employment and natural resources ” Why should our own people face water shortages, poor electricity supply, and excessive billing through smart meters , when we have our own natural water recourses in abundance , Hakeem questioned. PDF Chairman said other public issues including release of political prisoners and revocation of draconian laws like AFSPA and UPA also include in the core agenda of his political outfit. He said PDF was ready to offer any sacrifice for upholding dignity and identity of jammu and kashmir and would protect its democratic and secular credentials. He said no authority, who so ever be, would be allowed to treat J&K people as 2nd class citizens. PDF Chairman cautioned the people against machinations of selfish political parties that thrive on politics of lie and deceit. He appealed people to reject all those political parties who have bartered supreme interests of the Jammu and Kashmir for power and pelf in the past. “Their body language itself speaks that they are frustrated to see the public mood and have conceived their defeat well in advance, Hakeem added.
