Hakeem appeals release of incarcerated Er Rashid

Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front ( J&K PDF )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has lauded election Commission of India (ECI )for holding Parliamentary election 2024 in a free and fair manner. He has also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for taking part in the biggest democratic exercise with the unprecedented participation , thereby reposing their unflinching trust and faith in democratic and secular values.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Hakeem congratulated ECI for holding just concluding Lok Sabha election in a free ,fair and efficient manner in Jammu and Kashmir , fist time after the conduct of free and fair elections under the leadership former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee way back in 22002 . He exuded confidence that dates for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be announced immediately to restore and strengthen people’s trust and confidence in the electoral democracy. “ Now the time was ripe and socio- political situation most congenial for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir ,Hakeem said while hoping ECI would rise to the occasion to come upto the expectations of the people by holding asssembly elections at the earliest.
PDF Chairman has also extended congratulations to all the political parties and independent candidate besides Syed Agha Ruhulla Mehdi and Mian Altaf Ahmad of National Conference and Er. Ab Rashid of AIP for winning peoples mandate adding that success , defeat and dissent were the essence of real democracy . He has also lauded administration, police and security forces for making adequate and excellent arrangements to enable people take part in the electoral process smoothly. Hakeem appealed Government to set free the winning candidate and Chairman Awami Itihad Party (AIP), Er Rashid from the detention so that he can represent his electorate in the new parliament of India.
