Drug peddler arrested in Sopore, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a police party of Police Station Panzla headed by SHO Police Station Panzla under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Dr. Hilal Ahmad Hilal at a checkpoint at Rohama intercepted a suspect identified as Ghulam Nabi Malla S/o Ghulam Ahmad Malla R/o Rohama and during search recovered 50 grams of charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 17/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Panzla besides initiating further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
