Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Wussan headed by In-Charge Police Post Wussan at a checkpoint established at Wussan Chowk, intercepted a vehicle (Auto) bearing registration number JK01P-4705 with two persons Sahil Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Sher Colony Sopore and Mudasir Ahmad Dar S/o Ab Aziz R/o Jalalabad Sopore on board and during search, 2.15Kgs of Poppy Straw like substances were recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan were they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
