DC reviews Lok Sabha Election-2024 preparedness at G’bal

Ganderbal : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, who is also the District Election Officer on Saturday chaired a comprehensive meeting at the DC office, here to assess the preparations for the upcoming LokSabha Election, 2024 in the district.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on strategies to enhance voter awareness, streamline administrative processes, and address potential challenges.
It was given out that the primary objective is to ensure a seamless, free and fair conduct of the election process within the district.
In his opening remarks, the DC emphasized the importance of free, fair, ethical, and inducement-free participation of every citizen in the election process for the success of democracy.
The meeting extensively discussed the allocation of sufficient human resources, implementation of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) plan, and designated nodal officers were given instructions to ensure thorough preparation for the elections.
The DC said that the SVEEP provides the information and motivation needed for active and aware engagement in the electoral process, especially reaching out to those in difficult circumstances. He directed all the officers involved in the conduct of election to create a conducive environment and ensure all necessary measures are taken to encourage and facilitate widespread participation from the community in the electoral process.
To maximize public participation, the DC issued instructions for the implementation of extensive awareness campaigns engaging Booth Level Officers (BLOs), sports personalities, youth icons, influencers, and religious leaders, as well as organizing sports events, rallies, door-to-door campaigns, among other initiatives.
He expressed confidence that with meticulous planning and the active involvement of all stakeholders, Ganderbal District will witness a smooth, transparent and participative LokSabha Election in 2024.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gulzar Ahmad; Dy District Election Officer, ACR, CEO, ARTO, Tehsildars and BDOs.
