5 drug peddlers including lady arrested in Bla, Contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested five drug peddlers including a lady drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar Baramulla intercepted a vehicle (Tata Venture) bearing registration no JK05D-3072 with five persons including a lady identified as Sharik Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ab Rashid, Sharif Ahmad Sheikh S/o Bashir Ahmad, Irfan Ahmad Sheikh S/o Mushtaq Ahmad, and a lady, all residents of Dewan Bagh Baramulla and Bakir Ahmad Rather S/o Ab Qayoom Rather R/o Chandsooma Kanispora on board and during search recovered 45 grams of Brown Sugar & 345 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that cases were registered under relevant sections of law at police Station Baramulla besides initiating further investigation into the cases, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated that that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
