Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested three persons for their involvement in illegal mining of minerals in Baramulla district besides seizing two tractors, one excavator from the possession of the accused.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police seized 2 tractors, 1 Excavator and arrested their drivers identified as Nayeem Ahmad Baba S/o Ab Ahad R/o Khanpora, Yaseen Ahmad Malik S/o Habibullah Malik R/o Chak Dargam & Rayees Ahmad Khan S/o Khursheed Ahmad R/o Bangdara for their involvement in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Khanpora and Dargam Palhallan areas of Baramulla.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Baramulla and Police Station Pattan besides which the investigation was launch into the cases, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules and warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
