Theft case solved in G’bal, 2 accused arrested, Stolen items worth lacs recovered : Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting two accused involved in the commission of crime in Ganderbal and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Lar on November 11 this year received a written complaint from one Farooq Ahmad Ganie S/o Gh Nabi Ganie R/o Kurhama Ganderbal who alleged therein that during intervening night of 8th and 9th November some unknown thieves have stolen spare parts worth lacs from his Warehouse located at Benhama Lar.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 73/2023 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Lar besides which investigation into the case was also initiated, Police in it’s statement said that a special police team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Gh Hassan led by SHO Police Station Lar, adding therein that after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs, the police party apprehended one suspect identified as Nadeem Khan S/o Wajid Khan R/o Braeli UP and during his questioning, the accused Nadeem confessed that he alongwith Mohd Rafiq Kanna S/o Mohd Yousuf Kanna R/o Sher Colony Sopore have stolen spare parts from the warehouse. Police in it’s statement further said that both the accused were arrested and upon their disclosure, stolen spare parts worth about Rs/-939824.08 wete recovered following which they were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of the area have lauded its efforts for cracking/solving the case and resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
