Lady drug peddler arrested in Bla, 3 more drug peddlers arrested in Kulgam: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam including a lady drug peddler and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police Station Boniyar received inputs about the presence of contraband in a residential house at Trikanjan Boniyar after which a police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO Police Station Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri raided the said house and during search recovered 60 grams of Heroin from the possession of said lady identified as Farhat Begum @Fancy W/o Rayees Ahmad Khan R/o Trikanjan Boniyar who was immediately arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar where she remains in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Boniyar besides which investigation was also initiated, Police in its statement also said that in a similar action in Kulgama police party headed by IC Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Katran Crossing intercepted a vehicle (Bolero) bearing Registration no. PB10DH-0600 with three persons identified as Malkit Singh S/o Sukhdev Singh R/o Kalar Chogawan Amritsar, Malkit Singh S/o Joginder Singh R/o Kotla doom, Amritsar and Rouf Ahmad Ahanger S/o Mohd Ramzan Ahanger R/o Katran, Bumthan on board and during their search, 3.2Kgs of Poppy Straw like contraband substance were recovered from their possession, adding therein that the accused have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Police in it’s statement further said a case vide FIR No. 253/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund besides which further investigation was initiated into the case. In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
