Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Safapora under the supervision of DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Asham-Safapora crossing intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04A-8598, but driver of the motorcycle despite trying to run away from the spot to evade arrest was apprehended tactfully.
Stating that during search of the said motorcycle contraband substance like Charas was recovered from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that the accused has been identified as Yasir Hassan Parray S/o Gh Hassan Parray R/o Parray Mohalla Asham Bandipora who was later arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody besides which the motorcycle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 38/2023 under relevant sections of law was registed at Police Station Safapora besides which the investigation into the case was also initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and resolved to act tough against the criminals as per law.
