Jammu: Police on Friday said that it has arrested a gang of bike lifter arrested in Miran Sahib area Jammu city.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters on Friday Police said that on receiving complaints at Police Station Miran Sahib on 5th and 11th October from the complainants namely Joginder Singh S/o Sain Dass R/o Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib, Tehsil R S Pura and Rimpy Bala D/o Girdhari Lal R/o Dhindey Kalan Miran Sahib Jammu regarding theft of their motorcycles Bullet, bearing Regd. No. JK02BC-3881and Splendor bearing Registration No. JK02DB-6283 a case FIR No. 143/2023 U/S 379/IPC and 150/2023 u/s 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib besides which investigation was initiated.
Stating that special police teams of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and assisted by SHO Police Station Miran Sahib Inspr Bopinder Singh, Police Sub Inspector Maroof Ahmed and Police Sub Inspector Mohd Altaf with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally arrested the accused identified as Farooq Ali S/o Nazir Hussain R/o Simbal Camp , Police in it’s statement further said that during questioning the said accused confessed his involvement in the case and on his disclosure stolen motorcycles bearing registration No. JK02BC-3881 and JK02DB- 6283 were recovered from his possession.
Police in it’s statement further said that five more motorcycles have been recovered on his disclosure and on his disclosure one more person identified as Ranjit Singh @ Shotu S/o Jagdish Singh R/o Thathi Seshwan Rajbagh was also arrested who used to purchase these stolen bikes and further sells them.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP Hqrs Ramnish Gupta, adding therein that the investigation of the case is going on.
