DGP sanctions Rs 2.16 Cr Welfare loan to serving Police personnel besides 1.10 Cr Spl welfare relief/ex-gratia relief

DGP sanctions Rs.63 lakh sanctions as Spl relief, loan for NoKs of deceased, serving cops & SPOs

Jammu : Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 2.16 crore Welfare loan/relief for serving Police personnel. He has also sanctioned Rs1.10 Cr Special Welfare Relief/ ex-gratia relief in favour of 06 slain /deceased Police personnel/SPO.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ Jammu the DGP has sanctioned welfare loan of Rs 1.5 lakh each in favour of 68 serving Police personnel for marriage of their son/daughter and Rs One Lac each has been sanctioned in favour of 93 Police personnel for self marriage/marriage of their son/daughter. Rs 1.5 lacs each has also been sanctioned in favour of 21 police personnel for professional education of their wards. Rs 50 thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel.
Police said that the grant of Welfare Relief/loan is sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Funds. The loan amount will be recovered from Police personnel in 20 equal installments. Meanwhile during the meeting, the DGP also sanctioned Rs 38 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of NoK of slain Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh killed in a militant attack.
The Police Chief also sanctioned special welfare relief of Rs 22 lacs each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel HC Shiv Darshan Singh, SgCt. Ab Rashid Khanday and SgCt Parvaiz Ahmad who passed awau during service due to health-related issues besides special relief of Rs 6 lacs has also been sanctioned in favour of NoK of deceased SPO Romesh Kumar who passed away due to illness during the course of his engagement with the department. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
