Srinagar: Police on Saturday facilitated a Police Community Partnership Group meeting (PCPG)at Redwani, Qaimoh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district to bridge the gap between police & public.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the meeting was chaired by SP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal besides, DDC Frisal Anaytullah Rather, ASP Kulgam Shabir Ahmad and other Senior officers of Police were also present. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation/Fruit Associations, Local Youth of nearby areas including Khudwani, Qaimoh, Redwani, Hawoora, &Mishipora.
The participants raised various issues of public importance for their immediate redressal. Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, the chairing officer assured that the genuine issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for their immediate redressal besides issues related to Police will be resolved in shortest possible time. The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Police in identifying Anti-National and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Later on, SP Kulgam distributed sports kits among local youth and books/stationary items among the needy students. Addressing the gathering, SP Kulgam said that police is making all efforts to promote sports as these could play an important role in wiping out the curse of drug abuse. He also exhorted the participants to come forward and support the Police in making Kulgam a drug free district.
The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
