Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Awantipora and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar here police said that a Police Party led by Incharge Police Post Reshipora intercepted a suspicious person near Dogripora and during checking recovered 150 grams of Charas like powder from his possession following which he identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar S/o Gulzar Ahmad Dar R/o Dogripora and arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement also said that it has accordingly, registered a case vide FIR No. 13/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been also initiated.
Police in the concluding para of the statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law
