‘Police Commemoration Week’: Series of Cultural events, Progs organized in G’bal, Sopore, B’pora

Srinagar : As a part of Police Commemoration Week Police on Thursday inaugurated a series of events in Ganderbal, Bandipora and Sopore.

According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that during one such event held in Ganderbal, the SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar inaugurated 10-days long series of events in the memory of J&K Police martyrs at DPL Ganderbal. The series of events commenced with cultural programme in which number of students of different schools of the district participated.

On this occasion, the participants displayed various cultural programs aimed to provide a platform to the students, young budding and enthusiastic artists by showcasing their talent.

At the event, the participants of various schools of the district showcased their abilities by presenting dance performances, singing patriotic and folk songs. They also performed fictional dramas, short skits and other cultural activities. The spectators were left enthralled and mesmerized after watching the performances of the participants. The whole event was dedicated to remember the courage and valour of brave martyrs of J&K Police who laid their lives for the unity and integrity of the nation as well as in protecting the life and property of the people. The event was attended by the Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal, DySP(P), other officers of Police & education department and large number of people across the district.

Police on this occasion said that on this occasion, the participants were awarded with cash prizes and trophies by SSP Ganderbal and other officers of Police & Education department. Similarly, the Police in Sopore also organised cultural activities programme with an aim to infuse a sense of duty and patriotism on Police Commemoration Day-2022, at Shah Rasool Memorial Welkin Higher Secondary School Sopore in which students from different schools participated who presented different cultural activities and debates. On the occasion Dy SP Rohit Gupta and Dy SP Dr. Umer Urfan were present. At the culmination of the event, prize distribution ceremony was held in which trophies/appreciation certificates were distributed among the participants.

Police in Bandipora also organised a cultural programme at Space Age Model Higher Secondary School Kaloosa Bandipora. In the cultural program students of various classes of the Institution participated. On this occasion ASP Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Tak, Dy SP DAR Bandipora, Patron & Chairman of Space Age model School Kaloosa Bandipora, Teachers and a large number of students of the institution were present.

During the program the students performed different acts also sung different patriotic songs depicting the braveries of police Martyrs and highlighted the role of police in maintaining law & order, fighting various Anti National and anti-social elements and other crimes prevalent in the society through the cultural activities.

In a concluding para of the statement, the ASP Bandipora in his address paid rich tributes to Martyrs of J&K Police. He also appreciated the cultural activities exhibited by students. At the end of the event the winners and participants were awarded with trophies and appreciation certificates.
