Ganderbal : Police on Monday claimed to have arrested 3 durg peddlers in two separate search operations in Ganderbal and Bandiporaand and also recovery of contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Monday Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kangan at a checkpoint established at Iqbal Abad Kangan, arrested a drug peddler identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Jagal son of Nazir Ahmad Jagal resident of Naranag, Kangan following which contraband substance was recovered during searches from his possession.
Stating that the accused has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that officers from Police Post Nowgam at a checkpoint established on Tularzoo Gunchipora Road arrested two drug peddlers identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Wani S/o Mohd Yousuf Wani and Nayeem Ahmad Zargar S/o Gh Rasool Zargar, both residents of Pattan and during search operation, 7.5 kgs of Charas was recovered from their possession. Police in it’s statement also said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police stations and investigations have been initiated to ascertain the facts on ground.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement, police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated it’s commitment to make society free from drugd by taking strict actions against the persons found involved in the crimes. Police in it’s above quoted statement also reassured the people that it is making efforts to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
