Srinagar : Police in Awantiporaon Saturday organized drug awareness programme cum rally in the area. Besides, wild bung was also destroyed in Budgam, Sopore and Tral.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters here, police said that the awareness programmes were organized at Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore and Higher Secondary school Dogripora and attended by the respectables, students from the Pampore and Awantipora areas. Besides, TehsildarPampore had a detailed interaction with the students/public during the said awareness programmes, while as SDPO Pampore and SDPO Awantipora were also present on these occasions.
After the interaction programmes, rallies were organized in Pampore, Khrew and Awantipora to generate awareness against drug abuse and its ill effects on the society. Along with Police, officers from civil administration also took part in these rallies.
Earlier in Budgam, a joint team comprising of Police Station Magamalongwith officials of Excise Department led by SHO PS Magam launched a special drive against wild weed bung in Main TowmMagama and its adjacent areas and destroyed huge quantity of bung.
In Sopore also, a police team from PS Sopore along with Tehsildar Dangerpora and students of Government Higher Secondary School Dangerpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir launched a special drive against wild bung in village Dangerpora and destroyed huge quantity of wild bung. Similarly in Tral, a police party of Police Station Tral destroyed huge quantity of wild bung in village PinglishTral and its adjacent areas.
