Srinagar : Director General J&K Poluce Dilbag Singh has sanctioned a scholarship of over Rs 3.13 lakh to 48 wards of slain police personnel who are pursuing their education from primary to university level.
According to a statement issued from Police Headquarters the scholarship of Rs 3000 each has been granted in favour of 22 wards of slain police personnel who are studying in primary classes. While Rs 7500 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 16 wards who are pursuing middle school education, the scholarship of Rs 12500 to 15000 has been granted to 10 wards of slain police personnel who are pursuing higher education. The scholarship, according to the above referred police statement, has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Education Fund for the academic session 2021-22 & 2022-23.
“Police Headquarters is running various scholarship schemes which include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/slain Police personnel/SPOs for class 10th & 12th. Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses”, reads the concluding para of the above quoted police statement, adding that “Rewards are also given to the wards that crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc”.
