A prominent spiritual figure of Ladakh, Sheikh Hassan Waizie Passes Away

Thousands across Kargil attended funeral prayers and Paid Homage

Kargil : A great Scholar of Ladhak Hojjjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Hassan Waizie Hunderman, Mutawalli (Trustee) Anjuman Jamiyat Ullama Isna Ashriya Kargil (AJUIAK) Ladakh passed away on Saturday after a brief illness at his residence Poyen Kargil.
Sheikh Hassan Waizi took his basic Education from the Islamic School of Ayatullah Sheikh Mohammad Ali Brolmo Najafi and after that went for higher studies to Najaf Ashraf where he learned Higher Islamic Studies at Hozia Najaf Ashraf for years and returned back to his home place for disseminating Islamic Teachings and learnings.
He remained as a member of AJUIAK Ladakh, also offered his service as a teacher at Hozia ILmiya Kargil, remained as the Imam Jumma Kargil and Qazi Kargil and in his last year he remained as trustee (Mutawalli) of AJUIAK Ladakh and passed away. At the age of 73 Years Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Hassan Waizi passed away Last night at his residence Poyen Kargil after a brief illness. People from all over Kargil started reaching at premises of Hozia Ilmiya after the news of his demise spread and his Janaza reached Isna Ashriya Seminary in the form of a mourning Procession from Poyen and later was taken to Inqilab Manzil where the Nimaz E Janaza Wa offered by President AJUIAK Ladakh Shiekh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi and the last rites of the late Qazi was performed at his ancestral Graveyard at Hunderman Kargil.
The Namaz-e-Jinaza was attended by members of AJUIAK Ladakh, Members of Ulama Council Kargil, Chairman Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Shiekh Sadiq Rajaie, Councilor Town Haji Mohammad Abass, JKNC Kargil president Haji Hanifa Jan, former MLA Asgar Karbalai, Political activist Sajjad kargili and more than 8,000 men and women. President AJUIAK Ladakh Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi condoled the sudden demise of Sheikh Hassan Waizi and prayed for his heavenly abode. He further said that His demise is a great loss to the society at large and AJUIAK at Particular which is irreparable. Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, Former Chairman J&K Legislative Council & Senior BJP Leader from Ladakh Haji Anayat Ali Executive Councillors, LAHDC Councillors, Former CEC Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Chairman IKMT Sheikh Sadiq Rajaie, Anjuman Shab Zaman ,Maktab Imam Raza, and several other religious and political figures have condoled the sudden the demise of Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Hassan Waizie.
