Free entry, robust security, full-dress rehearsals set the stage for grand August 15 event in Srinagar.

Srinagar :Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, has extended a warm invitation to the public across the Valley to participate in the Union Territory-level Independence Day celebrations at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium on August 15. Following a successful full-dress rehearsal featuring parade contingents, security forces, and schoolchildren, officials confirmed that all event arrangements have been finalized.
Extending early greetings to the public, Garg while talking to reporters here said, “I would like to congratulate all the people of Kashmir and the citizens of Srinagar on the occasion of Independence Day in advance. I would also like to invite everyone to come to Bakshi Stadium on August 15 and be a part of this national event.” He encouraged widespread participation, adding, “My appeal to all of you is that on August 15, we will celebrate this with a lot of enthusiasm.”
To ensure a seamless experience for visitors, the administration has arranged free entry along with essential public amenities such as drinking water, toilet facilities, and refreshments throughout the venue. A comprehensive security framework has also been established in close coordination with security agencies to ensure a safe environment for all attendees. Addressing the safety measures, Garg stated, “Coordination meetings have been held with the security agencies and at the level of IG, the reviews are constantly going on.” While residents are encouraged to join regional events at their respective district headquarters, the central venue at Bakshi Stadium stands ready to host a patriotic and grand celebration for the entire region.
